Mental Health Programme
Club2Care is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges and emotional distress. Within the Indian community, mental health issues remain heavily stigmatised, often perceived as personal weakness rather than legitimate health concerns. This has limited help-seeking behaviour and delayed early intervention, particularly among seniors and families.

Club2Care’s Mental Health Programme was launched to address these gaps through awareness, education, and community capacity-building. Supported by a $25,000 grant from the SCIF, the 16-month initiative focused on destigmatising mental illness and equipping community members, volunteers, and partner organisations with the skills to recognise signs of distress and respond appropriately.
The programme delivered 13 outreach events and 11 training sessions, reaching a wide cross-section of the community including youths, adults, and seniors. When the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted in-person engagement, the programme adapted quickly by shifting activities online, maintaining strong participation and continuity. A Tamil-language webinar proved especially impactful, resonating deeply with seniors and highlighting the importance of culturally and linguistically sensitive outreach. The grant enabled all sessions to be offered free of charge, significantly increasing accessibility and uptake.
Overall, the programme strengthened community openness around mental health conversations and enhanced Club2Care’s visibility and credibility. New partnerships were formed with organisations such as SICCI, MCS, and religious institutions, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration. The SCIF enabled Club2Care to continue advancing sustainable, community-led mental wellness initiatives grounded in compassion, trust, and cultural understanding.
